Dear Family Member,
The Priests and the Staff of St. Rita Parish extend their prayers and sympathy to your family
during your time of loss.
We shall assist you in every way to plan and conduct a prayerful liturgy and tribute for your
loved one. Family members and close friends may wish to take part in the liturgy by reading from the
Sacred Scriptures, presenting the Offertory Gifts of Bread and Wine and in the presentation of a short
eulogy by one person. It is also understandable, if you choose not to actively participate in the liturgy.
The enclosed guidelines may help you in planning a meaningful and prayerful liturgy. Please let
us know how we may be of further assistance to you.
Friends do seek an appropriate means to express sympathy and so we have been asked often how
to direct gifts to our school / church. The following message in the obituary notice would provide an
avenue for a meaningful and thoughtful gift by people in memory of your loved one.
Memorial Donations in memory of (name) may be made to:
St. Rita Church / St. Rita School
1620 Whitney Avenue
Hamden, CT 06517
Please be assured of our continual and prayerful support to your family. May the Lord be your comfort
and strength in the days ahead.
Rev. Philip Sharkey
Rev. Paul J. Gotta
