Knights Earn Star Award

The Knights of Columbus, St. Rita Council #14664, has earned the distinction of “Star Council” for the fraternal year 2016-2017. This is the ninth consecutive award presented to the council; one for each year of the council’s existence. The award recognizes overall excellence in the areas of membership, insurance, and service-oriented activities in the Divine Mercy Parish and the community. The Star Award was presented to Council Deputy Grand Knight Tim Freer during a ceremony at the Knights of Columbus Museum in New Haven, Ct. on Saturday, October 4, 2017. Thank you to all the Knights who worked so hard to achieve this award.

Community activities included a Columbus House cookout for the homeless, planning and cooking for the parish picnic, a $703.00 donation to a refugee family, providing volunteers for the Habitat for Humanity, and the Coats for Kids program. Among the many activities for the Divine Mercy Parish, the St. Rita Knights donated $1000.00  to the St. Rita School scholarship fund, cooked for the annual school walkathon, and provided a fish fry during lent.
