St. Rita School News: Sept. 5, 2017

From the desk of Mrs. Tiezzi

Dear SRS Families,

I hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday weekend. I also hope your child/children honored you “the laborer” by completing one of your many chores. It was their homework assignment.

Here are just a few reminders you and our students. Our school day for students in grades kindergarten through eight begins at the 8:15 A.M. bell with Morning Prayer, pledge and announcements in the gym. Students arriving after morning opening must report to the school office and receive a tardy slip. Any parent visitor coming into the school must also report to the school office. Student drop-off in the morning should be quick. Parents whose child/ren need assistance exiting the vehicle, are asked to park on the street and walk your child to the gym door. Please do not hold up the drop-off line.

Pick-up in the afternoon is going much more quickly now that our teachers have become more familiar with their students and parents. If someone other than a parent is picking your child up, please notify your child’s teacher in writing. A crossing guard is stationed out in front of the school on Gilles Road and parents and students are asked to cross in the designated crosswalks when walking to your car. Cars parking in the no parking zones on Gilles Road and Dessa Drive are creating a safety hazard especially for emergency vehicles. Please be advised that the Hamden PD does ticket cars which do not follow the posted regulations.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. I am looking forward to seeing you all next week at our Back to School Nights. Thank you for entrusting your child/ren to our care. Have a great week.

God Bless,
Mrs. Tiezzi
