Dear St. Rita Parents,

Sr. Anne sends you her thanks for your kind thoughts, deeds and prayers as she recovers from her recent surgery. She will remain out until the end of the school year and Mrs. Dinehart will continue to cover her math classes. Cards can be sent to Sr. Anne via the school office.

Thank you to everyone who attended the H.S.A. Wine and Cheese Social last week. A special thanks is extended to the outgoing HSA board for their hard work in organizing and running the various fundraising events over this past year. Working together our school raised over $97,000. Your tremendous efforts help reduce actual tuition costs by about $300 per student.

At the social last week, I presented the annual State of the School address sharing with those in attendance a comprehensive report on the school‟s financial, enrollment, demographic, and curriculum efforts over the past year. This report will be available on the school website by next week. Please take the opportunity to review it and feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Below please find the improvements we have planned for the upcoming school year:

  • Required summer work packets for all students
  • Open an 8 week summer camp program
  • Implement a new math program – for K-5 Envisions Math and for grades 6-8 Pearson Middle School Math
  • Convert the tech lab into a new classroom for PreK- 3 students and offer both half-day and full-day program options
  • Relocate Chrome computers to classrooms
  • Enhance & update technology infrastructure
  • Purchase new laptop computers for teachers
  • Celebrate the 60th anniversary of the school
  • Begin the NEASC re-accreditation process
  • Expand extra-curricular offerings; and
  • Begin school at an earlier time to increase instructional hours for students

In honor of the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom, school will be closed on Monday, May 30 to celebrate Memorial Day. The teachers and I are wishing you and your family a peaceful and blessed Memorial Day.

God Bless,
Mrs. Tiezzi
